New Years Eve, Nigel Worthington at Marriotts hotel in Fareham. Me and Tomsmum were at a party and the Norwich squad were staying there before their new years day game against Portsmouth. I asked him if he was putting in a bid for Marlon Harewood and he said no! And it turns out he didn't lie!

Ok. This will mean nothing to most of you but when working on an album in Mineapolis in 1990 I got to know a member of a very famous black American soul pop group who was making a solo album. He went everywhere with his bouncer cos that's what they do over there.
A few months later he was in London for some promo work and I went to the after party at some central London night spot.
When he went for a piss his bouncer went with him to protect him!
I happened to go in behind him ( if you know what I mean) and went to the urinal next to him for a chat. There was much tension until I said
" you don't mind if I have a piss with you do you?"
At which point all was fine and we talked bollocks for a couple of minutes.
